How about a thought for the day?

For good or ill your conversation is your advertisement.

Every time you open your mouth you let men look into your mind.

Hmmm… we definitely think that is true. What we are doing during this series of letters is trying to make sure that what comes out of your mouth lets people have a positive look into your mind! Let’s keep going…

14) Why should I do this?

“You shouldn’t.” This really stops them cold. Pause, then say, “If you’re asking ME why, then you shouldn’t be doing this. You have to know in your own heart that you should do this because I’m not in the begging or convincing business. This question needs to go back to you. Why should you do My Power Mall?” Turn the question back to them. Let them convince themselves. Let them decide for themselves if their WHY is big enough to propel them to success in My Power Mall. You can’t plant desire; you can just lead the way to their success.

Let’s establish something now. This person has just asked a “Why” question. These aren’t the type of people who qualify for your time. You’re looking for people who are asking the “How” questions. “How do I do this?” “How do I make this work for me?”

I want you to really understand something here. You can provide the answer to “How” questions. That’s called training – and our system is crammed packed with it. What you can’t do is give someone the reason WHY. The “hows” will fall into place if the WHY is big enough. It is people who truly understand WHY they are building an My Power Mall business who will be able to surmount all the obstacles they are sure to face. One of the very first things you should determine when you are talking to someone is WHY they are listening to you. WHY are they looking for a home-based business? You’re NOT trying to sell them into My Power Mall – you’re simply looking for the people who are the right fit. They should understand their own WHY before they are even presented with My Power Mall.

15) This sounds too good to be true.

You’re going to hear this one a lot because My Power Mall does seem too good to be true – you just happen to know it is! Here’s a way to handle it…

“You know, ____________, you’re right. I felt the same way. But I have a question for you. What if it is true? Wouldn’t you want to know you checked it out as thoroughly as you could?” You’re dealing with someone of a skeptical nature. Let them investigate. Just get them to the website so they can make their own decision

“This sounds too good to be true,” is a knee jerk reaction. Don’t knee jerk back. Remember, you’re just sorting, not convincing. That attitude gives you the ability to respond calmly in these situations. Sort. You’ll find the people who catch the vision with you!

16) This doesn’t sound real.

This is yet another question, but negative in nature. Just ask them, “Why?” Usually they will go to the old adage, “If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.” Use the “Why?” question to evoke the real excuse. Now you’re simply back where you started in the last question and you know how to handle it.

There is another possibility though. When you ask “Why?” they may actually give you some real concerns; some things they aren’t clear on; or things they just don’t understand. Now you have something you can work with.

17) I don’t have the time.

Handle this with a simple take-away. “You are absolutely correct.” Then be silent. The prospect will always ask, “What do you mean?”

“Well, ___________, I’m simply agreeing with the fact that you spoke into existence that the timing isn’t right for you right now. With that in mind I’m going to go ahead and let you go. Here is my website and my phone number. If the timing is ever right for you to change the quality of your life, give me a call. I appreciate your time. Have a great day.” Then count…. 1… 2…3… Bye

Why are you counting? You’re counting to 3 to give this person time to respond. Oftentimes they will say, “Well, wait a minute.” The simple art of the takeaway is one of your most powerful tools. You’re not trying to convince them to join My Power Mall. You’re making them come after you. People are used to being chased. Don’t do it.

Just think about it. What do people really want out of life? Isn’t it usually more time or more free time? Most people will stay in their little rut – stuck and just wishing they had those things. You are looking for the ones who realize they have to do whatever it takes to take advantage of what My Power Mall has to offer them. Everyone starts out making some kind of sacrifice - somehow carving time out of an already busy schedule so they can build their businesses. You’ll have to sort to find the people who know, as they go into My Power Mall that they are going to have to pay the price and make some sacrifices!

* * * * *

I hope you’re finding as you go through these questions and answers, that you are not only learning answers – you should also be digging deep into your own heart and mind for why YOU are doing My Power Mall. I hope your own commitment and desire are being solidified as you go through this process!

We believe in you!!

Shopping Tip: Never sign up for auto-ship programs. Your original purchase will be tracked, but subsequent purchases will be lost to you because they will have been generated by the store, not by you in your mall. Just put a reminder in your computer's calendar to remind you when to order each month.

Business Building Tip: Read the newspaper for articles in which people are helping people. Get their website, email address, phone number, address -- whatever information you can find in order to contact them about My Power Mall. (Thea Collins, Alabama) Do the same thing while watching TV.

Change the World Tip: Send cards and notes to hospitalized veterans and those living in Veteran's homes. So many times they feel alone and forgotten. Your cards and notes can let them know their contribution was appreciated and it will ease their loneliness. (From our 101 Ways to Support Our Troops ebook)
