As a result of their online research and enthusiasm for building their My Power Mall businesses, some of our members got pulled into an Internet Scam called Guaranteed Signups. While there may be some legitimate companies who deal in this type of thing we have yet to see one do anything but hurt people. Here are two messages about this particular type of scam.
DON'T GET TAKEN BY A SCAM!
I'm sharing this message from a fellow member in order to keep any of you from being hurt. While our database challenges with the Guaranteed Sign-Ups companies were a hassle yesterday, and it has potential to hurt My Power Mall - I also realize it is hurting those of you who get taken in by it. After all you are paying good money for this garbage and I don't want to see any of you "taken."
Read what Terry has to say...
First, please let me thank you for your wonderful vision which lead you to create My Power Mall. I've been working online for more than 4 years. Experience taught me to stay away from free to join programs. It took me a while, but now I'm so happy I listened to my heart with this one!
I'm writing in regard to your message concerning Guaranteed Sign-ups. There are many different websites that offer them. I've used them in the past, but the majority of the time they aren't worth the time and money spent on them. They're paid to sign up for free to join programs. With a few exceptions for the most part they don't do anything and before long their e-mail addresses become invalid.
When I got serious about building an My Power Mall team, despite knowing better, I purchased Guaranteed Sign-ups through a Paid To Read program that I know is reputable. I thought perhaps the members would be different. I haven't had any indication that they are.
The best way to build your My Power Mall team is to follow your training and suggestions.
Sincerely,
Terry
Great wisdom, Terry. Thank you!!
Guaranteed-Signups Warning!!
Last week we had several members who were once again taken by a Guaranteed Signup company. The difference is that this time we were able to spot it quickly, we knew what was going on, contacted the members, deleted the Malls, and blocked the IP address that was doing it. What we can't do is recover the money these people spent to purchase something that is completely bogus.
Folks, I would just tell you to RUN from those kinds of companies. There may be ethical ones out there but I don't know how to tell you who they are, and I don't want you throwing your money away. I also don't want the bad reports about My Power Mall. What is happening is that these companies are harvesting people's information off the Internet and signing them up into My Power Mall - most of them having never even heard of My Power Mall! Obviously, that can do nothing but cause bad feelings.
A Few Words of Caution
This is very valuable info from Julie. Julie, thank you for sharing and for watching our back!
I was reading one of Ginny's updates and I am really concerned about what one of the 10+ members wrote about how they got their 10 malls. She wrote about posting on Yahoo Answers to the questions people ask. Since most people read this, I am concerned that many may try this approach. This is against Yahoo policies, terms, and conditions. This being said they could lose their Yahoo accounts, whether it be email account(s), websites, etc... if they get caught. I have done the same exact thing in the past and lost my email that I had had for years and one of my Yahoo affiliated websites. My sponsor on My Power Mall has actually lost an email account due to posting on Yahoo Answers as well. We both posted there in response to questions people had asked about working at home, home based businesses, etc and I answered with respect by not even posting a link, but just my contact information and they said I was still in violation.
So I am asking please advise My Power Mall members to take extreme cautions when posting to certain places because sometimes the rules are unclear and serious actions can be taken.
I do not want to see this happen with anyone, nor do I want anyone to get angry and email you, holding you at fault for posting that in your updates.
Sincerely,
Julie Whitis
Please be SMART in your Marketing!
We received the following email yesterday...
I am the manager of the Country Inn & Suites - Columbus West, in Columbus, Ohio. On August 11th, one of our guests slid your fliers underneath every door in our hotel. This is not acceptable!!! We had MANY MANY guests upset with us because of this. Your representative had no permission to do this, and now you have cost our hotel business!!! Please advise your associates that you need PRIOR PERMISSION to solicit sales materials. -Kristin Dunn General Manager Country Inn & Suites- Columbus West

Needless to say, this is NOT an okay way to market My Power Mall. While I appreciate the motivation and the desire to share My Power Mall with people :), we all need to make sure we are using legal, ethical ways to do it. I'm sure this person had absolutely no idea she couldn't do this. She was probably very proud of herself for her creativity. :)
Let's be clear, though... You absolutely can NOT go on to private property and leave flyers. You'll only hurt yourself, AND you will hurt My Power Mall. Thanks for helping us make sure this doesn't happen!
There are so many wonderful ways to promote My Power Mall. Stay away from any of those that could easily lead to fraudulent results. You'll help us AND you'll help yourself!
Be sure to get your copy of 101 Ways to Promote My Power Mall (if you haven't already) to find more great ideas. And don't forget to hop onboard the My Power Mall Members Forum where there is a free exchange of great tips and ideas, as well as encouragement from people doing exactly what you are – building their financial freedom.
We believe in you!

Shopping Tip: You can know you are receiving credit for the product you buy through your mall by putting your cursor over the banner and then look down at the bottom left of your screen. You will see an URL that looks something like: http://www.mypowermall.com/storeurlredirect.asp?My Power Mall_ID=101&id=40854. When you look at it -- the number after My Power Mall _ID will be your My Power Mall ID # and the number at the end is the store number. This code allows us to accurately track every purchase made from your mall so you get credit. You can also check your purchases in your Back Office through your Sales Report.
Business Building Tip: Use professional mailers (as opposed to one-time mailings). The life or pro memberships do cost, but you can earn back your investment in a few months. Another benefit of professional mailers is there is no problem with spam complaints because they all require double opt-in and they record and file each member's information. (Don Pittwood, New York)
Change the World Tip: If you own a business, boost morale in the workplace by recognizing employees. Put a different twist in the "Employee of the Month" idea and create a bulletin board in a public room recognizing employees who are making a difference in the workplace or community. Post their picture on the "Caught Doing a Kind Act" or "Caught In the Act" bulletin board and give monthly awards (best parking spot, off work at noon on Friday, etc.) Feature them in your monthly newsletter.
